When you buy a historic home in an older neighborhood, sometimes space is at a premium.
So when this couples family started growing, they knew they needed to find some space they could grow into. The previously undeveloped basement was where we went. With less than 1000SF to work with, we were able to carve out a family room with fireplace and built-ins, a guest bedroom big enough for a queen bed, a full bathroom and a bar. We were also able to maintain a generously sized storage room. By keeping the colours light and bright, the lower ceilings disappeared and the space we created was inviting and family friendly. We also couldn’t resist a bit of cheeky fun with some custom tile designs in the shower!
